TEDxBrisbane

As a first timer at a TEDx event at the State Library of Queensland, South Bank I found it inspiring, exhilerating and awesome.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.  There were a number of speakers that have provided me inspiration –

Frank Ansell is a traditional indigenous healer (nungkari) and lawman from the Eastern Arrernte desert country in Central Australia.

Edward Harran Social Innovator, Digital Strategist, Aspiring Futurist, K/no(w)mad.

Mara Bun currently working on an NGO start-up in the environmental area that has a powerful humanitarian focus called Green Cross.

A few of the three minute TEDxBrisbane brainbursts – Paul Longhurst, David Abbey, Matthew Thompson, …..  + the House Band – The Captains Daughters.

Each session during the event included a theme – & all you need is … TO CONNECT, TO BE OPEN, HOPE, CHANGE.

I am now expercing post TED depression and just wishing for another dose of TED ….

Thank you Paul Lindgren, Paul Fairweather, Mark Lobo and State Library of Queensland.  See you in 2012.
